About the event
Although women have been composing alongside men for centuries, their works have often been neglected or even ignored in favour of their male counterparts.
Maestra, one of Sonare's flagship programmes, spans 900 years, and takes in everything from German mystics, to famous siblings and even cross-pollinators of Indian and Western music. This is an unmissable and thrilling programme, with popular favourites alongside underappreciated gems, and fascinating musical history commentary from the singers themselves.
The lunchtime concerts at Westminster Music Library are an exciting series of programmes held on Wednesday lunchtimes, featuring a wide variety of professional musicians in the heart of London. Concerts are free to attend with a retiring plate taken at the end. Spend your lunch break with an eclectic mix of inspiring and exciting music! For further information, please visit https://www.westminster.gov.uk/event/lunchtime-concerts-westminster-music-library-person - please note our start time will be slightly different, at 1.30pm instead of the usual 12.30pm.
